Getting to Scalpay is relatively easy. The nearest ferry
port is only a ten minute drive away and connects the
Isle of Harris to the Isle of Skye, a journey of around
1hr 40mins. Harris also has a ferry terminal in Leverburgh,
at the south of the island, which connects with North
Uist and opens up travel throughout all the Hebridean
Islands.
If
you plan to fly to the islands, there are direct flights
daily from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen.
These flights come into Stornoway, an hour's drive,
between 1 and 5 times a day dependent on where you are
flying from.
There
are also various car hire companies throughout the islands
offering excellent quality at the best rates.
